The Parks
The area West of Lake Garda is a paradise for nature lovers, who can visit the Parco naturale dell'Alto Garda Bresciano natural reserve in Gargnano and the Andrè Heller Foundation Botanic Gardens in Gardone Riviera. The former covers nearly 40,000 hectares, from the shores of the lake right up to an altitude of 2,000 metres, therefore offering truly different flora-fauna environmental settings. The latter, open from March through to October, stretches over 10,000 m2 on the slopes of Mount Lavino; it is home to over 2000 different examples of plants from all over the world, and there are also streams and artificial lakes with fish, all in a miniature Dolomite setting.
Not far away, towards Valeggio sul Mincio, you can visit the beautiful Parco Giardino Sigurtà garden-park, featured in the “ValleVerde” ad, and one of the most beautiful botanic gardens in the world.
